Silk PLA is a popular 3D printing filament designed for a high-gloss, shiny finish, often used for decorative, non-functional, or artistic prints. While easy to print like standard PLA, it requires slower speeds (typically <60mm/s), higher temperatures (200-230°C), and is prone to moisture, needing to be dried at 55°C for 8 hours

• Appearance: Produces a metallic or glossy surface that makes layer lines less visible.
• Performance: Generally more brittle than regular PLA; it is not suitable for parts requiring high strength or flexibility.
• Handling: Prone to heat creep and jamming, so it is recommended to manage retraction settings.
• Moisture Sensitivity: Highly susceptible to water absorption; it should be dried thoroughly, even if new.
• Avoid: Features like “fuzzy skin” or “ironing” often ruin the glossy effect.
